『痩せゆく男』
というのは、スティーブン・キングの小説の題名です。

この作家が私は好きで、
どこが好きって、
『スタンド・バイ・ミー』
『ショーシャンクの空に』
『グリーンマイル』
など映画化され感動を与えるような作品を書きベストセラー作家と呼ばれながら、
吸血鬼やらゾンビやら、モンスターが登場する超Ｂ級な作品も書き続けていることです。
(そして映画化されＣ級ホラー映画になったりしてる)

なんとなく不安になるような雰囲気や謎めいた事件、登場人物の背景に引き込まれつつ読んでいるところに突然隣の住人がモンスターに変身したりすると正直ガッカリしますが、

読者を楽しませたい！
ドキドキわくわくさせたい！
そして自分も楽しむことを忘れない。
最高のエンターテイナーだと思います。

『痩せゆく男』は、ジプシーに呪いをかけられた男が日に日に痩せていく…というなんともＢ級設定な小説。ワニ男とか出てきます。

食べないとたちまち痩せてしまう、効率いいんだか悪いんだかな体質の私は、この小説をよく思い出す。
ジプシーの怒りをかった覚えはないけど？と。

そろそろごはん食べに行こうかな。

  1. ショーシャンクとグリーンマイルは以前ＤＶＤかビデオで観たことがあります(^_^)記憶が確かならショーシャンクで雨の中空に向かって叫ぶシーンは心揺さぶられました♥ジャケットの画にもなってましたね(-.-)
    しかしキング氏はＢ級作品も書いてらっしゃるんですねぇ。食べるためだろうか？
    食べるといえば私は食べても痩せません(^o^)

    キング氏は子供のころから怪物の出てくるホラー映画が大好きだったそうで、
    現在もそういう話を嬉々として書いているのです。
    ヘンに高尚ぶらず、子供の頃好きだった世界をいまなお愛し続けているのは凄いと思います◇

    私はキングで卒論書いたぐらいハマってたので、語りだしたらうるさすぎて引きますよ、きっと(笑)
